L’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Travaux Publics, l’Ambassade d’Italie au Cameroun et l’Université de Padoue en Italie ont organisé la 9eme édition de la Journée du Design Italien  à l’amphithéâtre 100 de l’ENSTP mardi 03 mars 2025. Cérémonie retransmise en directe sur la chaine de télévision Canal 2 International, elle a porté sur une conférence internationale et la remise des prix aux trois lauréats du concours de dessin organisé à cette occasion.

Organised under the theme “Inequalities, Design for a Better Life”, guests, teachers and students were given a presentation on “Promoting tools for visualising and representing on multimedia platforms historical architectural and urban transformations in Cameroon, with the aim of designing inclusive and intelligent cities”, by Professor GIODARNO, Director of the Department of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Architecture at the University of Padova.

This was followed by a lecture by Dr Chiara Spangaro, art historian and curator of contemporary art and architecture exhibitions, on the topic “The urban and architectural reconstruction of Milan after the Second World War: outcomes and reflections on an interactive and dynamic action”.La reconstruction urbanistique et architecturale de Milan après la seconde guerre mondiale : résultats et réflexions sur une action interactive et dynamique».

At the end of the lecture, participants well informed on the following items:

  • - Aldo Rossi: an Italian architect and designer renowned for his significant contributions to post-modern architecture and the first Italian to win the prestigious Pritzker Prize in 1990. 
  • - City life: a business, residential and commercial district located in Milan, distinguished by its three emblematic skyscrapers, each designed by world-renowned architects:
  • - Allianz Tower: designed by Arata Isozaki, this tower is 209.2 meters high ;
  • - The Generali Tower: designed by Zaha Hadid, is 177 meters high;
  • - The Libeskind Tower: designed by Daniel Libeskind, is around 175 meters high.
  • - BIG: the architecture firm of architect Bjarke Ingles, with its CityWave project in the CityLife district of Milan. This is a project for an office building distinguished by its monumental roof, which is set to become the largest integrated urban solar power plant in Europe, capable of producing close to 1,200 MWh of energy per year.
  • - SANAA: a Japanese architectural firm that has designed a major extension to the Bocconi University campus. The extension reflects the university's cultural vision, combining innovation, avant-gardism and international openness.
  • - Giuseppe Pagano in collaboration with his partner Gian Giacomo Predaval: they designed the first headquarters of Bocconi University, known as the Sarfatti Building. It is considered as one of the most refined works of Italian rationalism.
