Wednesday, June 12, 2019, the Civil Engineering club of the National Advanced School of Public Works (NASPW) of Yaounde headed by its President KACDEU Baudoin has organized at the amphitheater 500 of the NASPW, a sponsorship ceremony between the year 5 students of Master’s in Engineering (MEng) and those of year 3 of Civil Engineering. The Director of the NASPW Pr. NKENG George ELAMBO, represented by the Head of the Civil Engineering Department Pr. MBESSA Michel, has expressed support for them.
During his speech, Pr. MBESSA Michel challenged the godfathers and godchildren on the following points:
- The godfathers must be exemplary by being very studious and disciplined
- The godchildren must listen to the advices of their godfathers;
- To be engineers of the 3rd millennium and very competitive both in Cameroon and abroad (United States of America, Germany, England, China, France etc.) ;th millénaire et très compétitifs aussi bien au Cameroun qu’à l’étranger (Etats-Unis d’Amérique, Allemagne, Angleterre, Chine, France etc.);
- Focus on their studies;
- Have interest in road construction projects.
The engineer NGOUO Idriss Michaël (First promotion MEng) will also give them some advices:
- The responsibility of the engineer is to build buildings that can resist the wear and tear of time and propose necessary solutions;
- It is important for an engineer to know the history of a ruined building before rebuilding it;
- An Engineer should Take 70% of his time to follow a course;
- To be assiduous, respectful and humble.
The ceremony ended with the delivery of certificates to each godson by his godfather.
