The Environmental Engineering club celebrated March 22, 2022 through several activities.
On the occasion of World Water Day on March 22, 2022, the Environmental Engineering club has organized a conference on the theme "Groundwater: making the invisible visible" at Amphitheater 100.» à l’amphithéâtre 100.
During this conference, the panelists presented the chain necessary for the treatment of water. It is about knowing the stages of potabilization of water. Thus, as equipment, we can cite: pumps, filters, a softener, a reverse osmosis machine, an Ultraviolet lamp or filter.
The panel will also focus on diseases caused by contaminated water, also called waterborne diseases, among others: typhoid, malaria and cholera.
The recommendations :
-
- - The use of water as a resource: saving water, protecting water;
-
- - Techniques to make invisible water visible: capture of springs, wells and boreholes;
- - Prevent the invisible from becoming harmful: avoid pollution.
An exhibition was also organized:
- - In the first stand, it was about a representation of the model of an activated sludge treatment plant which presents the components and the operating system of this type of treatment;
- - The second stand presented explicit images of concepts such as the treatment of wastewater by lagooning, the types of techniques for producing drinking water, a system for depolluting river water, the operating system for solar panels.s.
The panelists:
- - Pr. TALLA André (Head of the Environmental Engineering Department - NASPW)
- - Dr. Jacques MARTEL (Water Expert and Teacher at the NASPW)
- - Mr. ESSOH Pierre Marie (Hydraulic Engineer)
- – Dr. TANGONG Caleb
