Thursday, March 10, 2022, members of this club carried out a site visit to a MEVT filter bed

Indeed, it was about of a filter planted with reeds, which was manufactured to treat the wastewater from the offices of the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training still under construction.

This activity took place as follows:

- Presentation of the construction plans of the MEVT offices, as well as the plans of the filter bed and the environmental engineers who explained the operation of the following treatment system:

• Primary treatment which consists of creating an all-water pit or septic tank which will have 03 compartments, each of which will reduce sludge, turbidity, etc.

• Secondary treatment which consists of routing the water that comes out of the 3rd compartment into the filter bed (horizontal type) using pipes. This filter includes compartments of aggregates (gravel 15/25, gravel 0/5, sand) above which will be placed aquatic plants, more precisely reeds. The water that comes out will be completely treated and can be discharged safely into nature

- Visit of the septic tank, the filter bed and the offices under construction.
