In commemoration of the World Environment Day which is celebrated on June 05, the Environmental Engineering club organized a conference on the theme "The circular economy, an opportunity for Cameroon" on Wednesday June 09, 2021

Organized in collaboration with the initiative of the National Fortnight for the Environment and Sustainable Development (QNEDD), it was about discussing the opportunities that the circular economy represents for Cameroon.

Recommendations

  •   For a better circular economy, there must be good pre-collection (classify waste according to its category);
  •   Recycle the pre-collection;
  •   Avoid polluting the environment during waste processing (tire combustion);
  •   Protect yourself during the waste transformation process;
  •   Waste can also be used as building material;
  •   Train the people responsible for recycling waste;
  •   Raise awareness among the population and businesses on the impact of poor waste management on the environment;
  •   Implementation of environmental laws (polluter pays) by the government;
  •   Creation of laws to regulate the circular economy sector.

Panelists:

  •   Dr BWEMBA Charles (Deputy Director - ENSTP)
