Friday April 16, 2021, representatives of the National Order of Architects of Cameroon paid a working visit to the National School of Public Works of Yaoundé
Agenda:
- Working meeting between members of the administration of ENSTP and those of ONAC
- Guided tour of the infrastructures relating to the training of architecture students (classrooms and laboratories)
- Questions - answers to the amphitheater 100

The objective of this working visit was to bring ENSTP closer to ONAC. Visit during which the Order will undertake to provide architecture students with academic internships in renowned architectural firms.
In addition, during the question-and-answer session held at Amphitheater 100, ONAC members will give several recommendations to the students.
Recommendations for applying to ONAC:
- After the date of signature of his certificate of achievement, each candidate will first have to do a mandatory two-year internship at ONAC to better master it, and know the needs of Cameroon;
- Finally, put together a file to present it to an audit. During the audit, the candidate should explain to the members how the internship was carried out. ONAC will sit and decide if the candidate is eligible or not.
Recommendations for being a good architect
- An Architect is not a draftsman, but a designer;
- You have to know how to win a market;
- It is strictly forbidden to practice the profession of architect in the neighborhood under penalty of sanctions, among other things being banned from the ONAC;
- An Architect can work in various administrations (Banks, town halls, international institutions, education, private practices);
- An Architect advises clients, designs and coordinates, controls and takes care of his agency;
- An Architect must always devote 30% of his time to Architecture;
- He must be in charge of the time and work;
- The Architect designs from the site (the place where we are going to build), the program (all the needs expressed) and the budget;
- Architecture must respect the environment by soaking up realities;
- The Architect sometimes has to think like a layman to better carry out a project.
